Who operates BurtonWeb?

BurtonWeb Commercial Directory is run by Anne Nichols and Barry Morgan of Burton-in-Kendal. Anne also runs Astarte Web Design, and Barry is BTS - Burton Tech Support. Between them Anne and Barry have many years experience of computers, online trading, and marketing.

In their spare time Anne and Barry are joint editors of the village magazine Burton News, and have set up the BurtonWeb Village Portal website to act as a source of info about the village, its groups and societies, and events and activities taking place in the village.

Anne and Barry are also active members of the local history society, the photographic society, and the amateur dramatic society where Barry acts and Anne serves as stage manager.

Burton-in-Kendal... where is that?

Burton-in-Kendal is a small village of around 700 houses in the extreme south of the county of Cumbria, England. The village straddles the A6070 road and is approx midway between the Cumbrian market town of Kendal and city of Lancaster, in the county of Lancashire.

*

Why BurtonWeb?

BurtonWeb grew from an idea of having a village portal for Burton-in-Kendal on which residents and visitors could find information about the village.

BurtonWeb now encompasses two separate areas - BurtonWeb.org.uk which fulfills the original notion: it has info about the village, our facilities, leisure groups and societies, schools, religion, and so on.

BurtonWeb.co.uk was then developed to be an online market place for the businesses and services in the village as a way of extending their traditional marketplace beyond the limits of the village itself.

By supporting the businesses and services who advertise on BurtonWeb you are supporting the whole community, as most of the business owners and service providers live in the village and have families here.

*

Who may advertise on BurtonWeb?

BurtonWeb is intended to help support all businesses and services who operate within the area covered by the Burton telephone exchange - that is with a telephone number commencing 01524 78xxxx.

Do you have a brochure?

*
